Rush-Copley Receives High Marks from its Employees

Survey results place hospital in top 5% nationally

(March 6, 2009)  Rush-Copley Medical Center’s recent employee engagement survey revealed that the hospital’s employees are among the most satisfied in the nation.  Responses placed Rush-Copley among the top 5% of hospitals surveyed nationally.

The annual survey measures the level of engagement employees find in their workplace through their response to questions about their work environment, whether they would refer a friend or family member or consider looking for another job.

Research has shown that when the staff of a hospital is highly engaged from an employment standpoint, patients benefit.

“It’s essential to keep in mind that hospitals like Rush-Copley are more than just facilities with high tech equipment and technology,” said Barry C. Finn, president and CEO of Rush-Copley.  “Most importantly, we are about people caring for patients who are in need of medical treatment and care.”

Rush-Copley received high marks in some of the following areas:

  • 88 percent of employees agree that Rush-Copley has an outstanding future.
  • 86 percent of employees are extremely satisfied with Rush-Copley as a place to work.
  • 85 percent of employees would gladly refer a friend or family member to Rush-Copley for employment.
