Special Features
The rehabilitation opportunities of Rush-Copley's Rehabilitation Program are unique and expansive. Some of the special features include:
- The Physical Rehabilitation Center - designed to maximize patients' potential as they return to independence. The facility offers true-to-life features such as an automobile, grocery store, kitchen and laundry area designed to replicate day-to-day activities and help inpatients prepare to be independent once more.
- Therapy Gym - As part of the patients' therapy, they use the gym to practice walking and lifting. Patients also perform exercises to help strengthen muscles and improve basic body movement.
- Pet Therapy - a team of 18 dogs participate in in therapy to aid in movement and socialization. Activities may include throwing a ball down the hallway, giving the dog commands or offering their canine partners treats.
- Group Activities - a large open space is available for group activities. This area includes the community dining room and a kitchen area. Educational programs, support group meetings and social functions are also held in this area.
- Rush-Copley Healthplex - not only hosts the Outpatient Therapy Center, it is the perfect place to continue recovery after prescribed therapy sessions have concluded. Ask about our special membership program for therapy "graduates."
