At the Rush-Copley Healthplex, our degreed and certified personal trainers will work closely with you to create an exercise program designed to help you maximize your efforts in reaching your own specific fitness goals. With their one-on-one attention and guidance, you’ll benefit from the added motivation you wouldn’t otherwise have working out on your own.

Getting Started

Choose your own Personal Trainer or, if you need guidance, contact Russ Zalkin, 630-499-2401, to help you select the best match for you. To purchase your Personal Training package, just speak to a Healthplex staff member at the Front Desk or call 630-978-6280. On the day of your first appointment, wear comfortable workout clothes and meet your Personal Trainer at the Fitness Desk on the Fitness Floor. Personal Training sessions are available in individual settings and can be purchased individually or as a package.

Kinesis Training™

An advanced level of personal training is the elite Kinesis Training. Designed to improve your overall quality of life, it involves fluid, three-dimensional movements that activate a wider range of muscles. You’ll train in a comfortable private studio to heighten awareness of movements, acquire correct posture, and achieve full harmony of body and mind. Kinesis Training enhances the benefits of classic exercises such as Yoga and Pilates, as well as sports-specific and post-rehabilitation training. A dedicated Personal Trainer will guide you through this new experience, helping you rediscover the natural movements of your body. Meet Our Trainers

Russell Zalkin, Manager of Member Fitness Services and Personal Trainer, 630-499-2401
After completing a Bachelor of Science degree, Russ began his career as a personal trainer, opening a private studio in 1993. He was voted one of the top three trainers in Indianapolis and served as a health and fitness advisor for the Indianapolis Star and Indianapolis Monthly.  Russ merges all the latest training methods with the more traditional, specializing in general fitness, cycling, injury recovery, post-cancer recovery and nutrition.  He’s currently ACE and ACSM certified.

Rondi Stickney, Group Exercise Coordinator and Personal Trainer, ext. 8185
Rondi is an AFAA-certified Personal Trainer, specializing in Mat 1 Yoga, Cardio Kickbox, Weight Training and Rehabilitation. She has over 25 years of experience motivating adults, seniors, youth and athletes. She stresses technique, form and safety to her clients, while working on strength, tone, stability and weight loss for an overall healthy lifestyle.

Joe Albin, Personal Trainer, ext. 8013
In addition to receiving his BS in Exercise Science from Millikin University and an ACE certification in Personal Training, Joe played football for sixteen years and currently competes in amateur boxing events. He focuses on developing personalized exercise programs to increase the quality of his client’s life. Joe specializes in strength and conditioning for adults and athletes and provides personal boxing instruction for teens and adults.

Lee Hruby, Personal Trainer, ext. 8199
Lee’s training include a BA in Nutrition and certification from the National Personal Training Institute. Her focus is on weight management, total body toning and strength and conditioning for beginners through advanced.

Melissa Kelley, Personal Trainer, 617-970-0969
Melissa has a B.S.B.A. in Business Management and Marketing. She is certified through A.C.S.M. and had a successful training business in Boston for 9 years. Her focus is on educating her clients for long term health and wellness. Her many specialties and passions include nutrition, weight loss, golf and tennis conditioning. Melissa will work with you to develop an individualized training program.

Abbey Norus, Personal Trainer, ext. 8119
Abbey has a M.A. in Education, B.S. in Kinesiology, and A.C.E. Certified Personal Trainer. Personal Trainer since 2000. Pilates Certified. Abbey specializes in functional training, core strength, stabilization, balance training, Pilates, pre/post natal and weight management. "My goal is to inspire you to keep moving forward toward your fitness and health goals."

Godwin Odior, Personal Trainer, ext. 8103
Godwin has an Associate degree and is certified by ISSA and NESTA. He is also a former track and field athlete. His area of expertise includes body building, overall toning, speed development and weight management for all ages. After assessing your goals, he will customize your workout to maximize your body’s full potential.

 

Susan Podsedly, Personal Trainer, ext. 8121
Susan's background in various counseling positions make her a great motivational trainer. Her focus is on good nutrition, muscular strenghtening and toning, and keeping fit to fight the aging process. She includes stability, balance, coordination and flexibility in all programs. Susan specializes in helping clients rehabilitate shoulder injury/weakness. Susan is NPTI certified.

Julie Snow, Personal Trainer, ext. 8191
AFAA-certified as a Personal Trainer and Johnny G. Spin certified, Julie’s specialties include body building, increasing strength and flexibility, total body strengthening and conditioning, and emphasizing an overall healthy lifestyle.
