National Safety Council Defensive Driving Course

The National Safety Council and Rush-Copley Medical Center invite motorists over age 50 to attend a two-day course on driver safety.  Join Illinois State Trooper Mark Dorencz, trained instructor, to learn defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws, rules of the road and how to save money on your auto insurance.  Course materials and refreshments are provided.

2010 Dates: April  13-14 (must attend both days), July  13-14 (must attend both days), October 12-13 (must attend both days)
Time:  8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Fee: $10 per person due on first day of class for materials only

Share Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Group

Coping with a perinatal loss is difficult.  Gain support by joining other families who are experiencing a similar loss through miscarriage, still birth or newborn period.

This Pregnancy and Loss Support Group offers a brief and informative presentation each session on a topic of interest followed by an open forum to ask questions and share experiences, photos and memories.

The group is facilitated by a nursing specialist with Women's Health. Learn More

Fasting Blood Sugar Screenings

The Diabetes Education Center at Rush-Copley Heart and Vascular Institute is offering FREE fasting blood sugar screenings to the community on a first come, first served basis.  Screenings take place on the third Friday of every month at Kendall County Senior Services located at the Beecher Community Center in Yorkville.

Please be sure to FAST for at least 8 hours prior to the test.  No registration is necessary, walk-ins are welcome.  For more information, please call Senior Services Associates, Inc. at 630-553-5777.
